Reading Way

Provide beginning readers with strategies for unlocking the meaning of words. Demonstrate specific word analysis skills to help students become better readers by learning to identify unknown words and their meanings. Reading Way presents word analysis skills in an experiential context of language and reading. This integrative approach teaches word analysis skills, contextual strategies, metacognitive strategies, and purposes for reading. Students will learn to apply the strategies automatically and to appreciate reading as a tool for information and pleasure.
