Heroes Read

In this cross-curricular Language Arts series, elementary and middle school students gain insight into the importance of reading. From whom? None other than a published author of children's books: Elizabeth Van Steenwyk. Ms. Van Steenwyk has written more than 100 books and short stories for young people. Revised standards in Language Arts call for children to be able to critique, interpret, and respond to literature. This series is an excellent resource to help educators address those standards. Programs begin with Ms. Van Steenwyk's motivation and inspiration for writing each book and then the entire text is read or performed.
