American Legacy

This series emphasizes the concept of interdependence as it examines the development of the United States region by region. The programs are designed to help fifth and sixth graders understand the history and present importance of each section of the nation, and how the various regions and cultures enrich and depend upon one another. Blending documentary, docu-drama, and magazine formats, each program concentrates on one region—significant locations, events, and personalities in its history and their relationship to the geography and economics of the contemporary world.
