PBS Teachers
AIT has provided metadata for more than 3,000 lesson plans, video and audio clips, interactive online activities, and offline activities that accompany public television programs, including:
- Descriptions of the educational content of the resource
- Keywords designed to match the PBS search engine
- Grade levels
- Subject and topics covered in the lesson
In addition, AIT worked with PBS to repurpose middle school mathematics courses for TeacherLine—PBS’s online professional development service—for the needs of instructional coaches in school districts across the country. In addition to providing metadata for all readings, videos and interactives used in the online courses, AIT is also creating “Resource Sets” that instructional coaches can download and use with their teachers. Each resource set is a mini-collection of course materials plus implementation suggestions built around sound instructional methods and coaching principles.
