2002, Agency for Instructional Technology in Consortium with Missouri, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Quebec.
NOTE ON CONSORTIUMS: Since 1970, AIT has developed more than 35 major curriculum packages through the consortium process it pioneered. Every state and Canadian province has cooperatively funded and used these learning resources. The Voyageur series is just one example of this type of cooperative effort.
The Voyageur Experience in Global Geography is a video series that helps students understand lessons in geography, and introduces them to the global issues that have had an impact on countries around the world. Each lesson consists of a 25-minute video program along with accompanying printed material to facilitate classroom activities. The programs model an investigative approach to physical and social geography, following students on tour to distant lands.
AIT was responsible for every step of the production of the ten videos of this program, with staff members traveling to Canada, Costa Rica, Italy, Russia, Greece, Kenya, China, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and India for on-location shooting. The Agency was responsible for all production tasks, not limited to:
AIT contracted the writing of the teaching guide for the series. It was edited and formatted by in-house staff.
