Phillip Harris, Executive Director, Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT)The Association for Educational Communications and Technology is a professional organization founded in 1923 for educators and others whose activities are directed toward improving instruction through the use of technology. The Executive Director of AECT is Phillip Harris, who agreed to talk to us in advance of his organization’s International Convention and its increasingly popular International Student Media Festival. 
AECT’s International Student Media Festival (ISMF) honors student-produced mediaThe International Student Media Festival (ISMF) has been sponsored by AECT since 1974. The Festival celebrates outstanding classroom media projects by honoring students and teachers from Kindergarten through college in a three-day event that includes workshops, screenings of winning entries, and an awards ceremony. Its recent growth has surprised even the leaders of its sponsor organization.
