Read for the Record Sets another Record in 2008, AIT Again Handles Distribution of Featured BookJumpStart’s campaign to Read for the Record shattered its 2007 record with more than 425,000 participants across the country. AIT handled distribution of the featured book, Corduroy, published by Pearson Foundation, again this year. 

This month we’re featuring a FREE Geography lesson plan for students in grades 3–6, utilizing any weekly program from Assignment: The World. Getting the Right Coordinates uses place names of news events presented in ATW programs and the longitude and latitude coordinates for those places to introduce skills in using world maps. This learning activity directly addresses the National Council for the Social Studies recommendations for Content Strand III: People, Places, and Environments.
